Romania joins the UPC
Yesterday, Romania became the 18th country to join the Unified Patent Court (UPC). A granted Unitary Patent will, therefore, now cover 18 out of 24 EU member states that have joined the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court (UPCA).
Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, and Ireland are the remaining signatory states that have yet to ratify the agreement. Spain, Poland, and Croatia are the three EU countries that are still not signatory states.
More about the UPC can be found here.
