About

Marianne is a European Patent Attorney and UPC representative with more than two decades of experience in intellectual property across the life sciences. She holds an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen, specialising in immunology, as well as a Master of Laws (LLM), enabling her to advise on both technical and legal aspects of IP.

Since 2001, she has worked across the full patent lifecycle in disciplines including immunology, protein biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, microbiology, and renewable bio‑based technologies. Her career spans senior in‑house roles, head of IP positions with portfolio and budget responsibility, and earlier work as a senior patent examiner at the Danish Patent and Trademark Office and as a consultant at a leading Scandinavian IP firm.

Her legal practice includes drafting and negotiating license, collaboration, and research agreements, as well as managing trademark portfolios and enforcement. She is also experienced in leading research programs, integrating IP strategy into scientific workflows and technology‑development pipelines.

Marianne is recognised for her creative thinking, collaborative approach, and solutions‑oriented mindset.
