UPC: Update on Germany

According to Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court, two constitutional complaints about the German signing of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court were filed.

The process of the UPC might therefore once again be delayed, depending on the FFC’s response to the complaints. It remains unknown who the complainers are, but it was expected that The Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure (FFII) and Patent Lawyer Ingve Stjerna, who both filed complaints in 2017 upon the first signing of the agreement, would repeat their actions.

At aera, we follow the development closely and you can read the full story on the long-awaited UPC here.
