About

EmilieĀ“s inquisitive mind motivated her interest to join the patent profession following her Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Wuerzburg (Germany). She has a Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the International Medical University (Malaysia) and a Master in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Copenhagen. During her time as a MasterĀ“s student, she ventured into Structure Based Drug Design and gathered hands-on experience in the organic synthesis of small bioactive molecules. Her PhD was a great opportunity to further expand her skillset and expertise as a medicinal chemist while working on the design and synthesis of bitopic ligands as potential pharmacological tool compounds to investigate the mechanism of action through which opioid receptors mediate analgesia. Emilie has a keen eye for details and values open communication as well as a collaborative approach when handling complex problems.
